IRELAND-day 502!! :)

Heyy fam bam!

What up my lovelies! So how is everyone? I feel like I haven't talked to the girls (my sisters) in so long! Write me will ya? ha jk I know you are all busy with your kids! I hope you all are doing great! Soo this past week was GREAT!! Family, things are awesome here in Lisburn. I'm loving it! Update for ya...

So Richard is doing awesome as ever. We taught him at a members house (Johnsons) and Sis. Johnsons parents came who are in the ward as well. It was perfect! They are great with Richard and they all got on so well! He is right on track still and he is having his interview on Thursday and then his baptism on Saturday! Goodness I am so happy for him! wahoo!!!

John is doing good still. We always have great conversations with him and he is still progressing. Slowly, but surely. We didn't get to see Stuart this week so hopefully we'll see him this coming week. We shall see!

So I have big news for you....so a member, Rebecca who is 14, has been bringing her friend, Megan, to church with her lately. We haven't really jumped on it yet because we didn't want to be too much. Well, Bishop Lowry came up to us yesterday and was like "hey, so Megan is wanting to get baptized so you need to teach her the lessons." Sister Martin and I were in shock! ha So we talked to her after sacrament and she told us that she  wants to. She is such a cute girl! She's 13 and is so sweet. So we might be teaching her this Thursday. We aren't sure how her mom feels about it yet so we'll have to see. Keep her and Richard in your prayers please! thanks :) AND, guess what else, we got a new investigator last Tuesday named Thomas. He is so cool. We taught him the restoration last week and invited him to church. Well, we didn't think he'd come because he was a bit hesitant on it all. So sis martin and I are sitting in sacrament and I had this feeling that I needed to look behind me. So I looked behind me to my left and guess who was sitting there on the end of the row.... THOMAS!! ha I about died! So sis martin and I went over and sat next to him. He didn't stay for the 2nd and 3rd hours but he said he'd come next week and we set up an appointment with him. So that was a miracle in its self.

Also, a General Authority, Elder Herbertson, came to church yesterday. It was fun to have him there. He spoke and taught the priesthood and RS combined. He spoke at an All-of-Scotland conference once back in January I think and so it was fun to see him again.

So family, life is great in Lisburn! :) I'm loving it lots!! Man, being on a  mission is great! Best thing ever! Thanks for supporting me! I'm glad to have you all! oh and guess what else...I'm sick.. AGAIN! ha I think my body is making up for not being sick the past 16 months. Looooove it. ha I love you!! miss you!! muah! xoxo :)

Love,
Sister Firth :)

IRELAND-sweet 16!‏

Hey fam bam!!

Wow it feels like I haven't talked to you in forever...how are you all?? Tell Jakey congrats on winning against Woods Cross!! That is sooo cool! I so wish I could see him play! I'm sure he is a rockstar out there! :) and, tell Nat congrats on her little girl! She is precious!! Can't wait to meet her! Hope you are all doing great!

So updates for this past week...

-Hiking the Mourne Mountains was a BLAST!!!!!!!!! Oh my, pics just don't do it justice! It was so fun and it was a nice day which made it even better. And, it reminded me so much of Utah! So that was fun. Oh and last monday, it was my 16 month mark. The reason for the "sweet 16" is because on that day, I had been out for 16 months and sis martin has 16 months left. So we decided to take a pic!

-Monday night, we had FHE with a fam in the ward and we carved pumpkins! It was pretty fun! :)

-Richard is doing awesome! He is right on track still. We taught him the Word of Wisdom last wednesday and we were a little worried because he drinks coffee. Well, he was fine with it and when we saw him on Saturday, he said "sisters, I'm drinking hot chocolate. It's nice because its a better way of living." So that was great to hear!

-Stuart is great as well! He told us on Thursday that he got all of his questions answered and that he knows the church and BOM are true. He said he wants to get baptized but not until May because he's going to Israel with his church in April. So thats a bit sketch so we'll see. We just hope and pray he decides to get baptized sooner than later, BUT, if he gets baptized in May, I'll be here for it with all of you! :) So that's exciting to think about!

-John is slowly progressing. He's just so confused and over analyzes things so we're still working on him!

Well that's pretty much the update for the week! The mish is going great family!! We had a zone conference on Thursday and it was so fun! President Brown, Sis Brown, and the Assistants were there so it was good to see them all. Sister Brown couldnt believe how soon I go home haha, Less than two months....flip it scares me! Can it just slow down a little please? I loooove my mission but I also loooove my family so it'll be nice to see you all. Until then, I'm gonna give it all I got!

Thanks for all of your support family!! Miss you all! Have a great week and hey, read the Book of Mormon, it's aweseome! muah! xoxo :)

Love,
Sister Firth :)

IRELAND-"This is what has been missing..."

Heyyy family!!

So, how's life?? Well this is going to be a fast email and a semi-short one because we are going to hike the Mourne Mountains in about 15 minutes so mom, I'm sorry but I cant chat with you today! We'll chat next week k? Love you!!

Here's the short version of what went down this week...we had Zone Development day on tuesday...it was a blast!! We had a pie eating contest, played sports, got in onesies, and had a testimony meeting! It was so fun! We have 3 progressing investigators....Stuart, John and Richard. They are all doing awesome!!! Richard has a baptism date for November 1st!!!!!! Wahoo! :) I am so proud and happy for him! he came to church yesterday and loved it! So he's right on track! Yesterday in Gospel Principles class, we were talking about God and the plan of salvation and Richard spoke up and said, "this is what has been missing in my life." He was talking about the plan of salvation and the pre-earth life. He said it all makes sense to him! So that was great to hear!! :) Keep him in your prayers please! thanks.

Well sorry to make this so short...I'll write more next week! We gotta go! I love you all!!! Miss you!! see you in 10 short weeks! Muah! xoxo :)

Love
Sister Firth :)

IRELAND-General Conference!‏

Heyyyy fam!! :)

Wasn't general conference just flipping AMAZING?!! wow!! I hope you liked it all! I sure did! oh and I'm a bad aunt and forgot to wish Brynlee a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!! Can't believe she is 2! Tell her to stop growing til I get home! haha  and tell Lovegrove congrats on getting engaged!!!!!!! ah I am sooo happy for her!! :):)

Alright so update....lots and lots happened this past week! Here's the details!

-we went on splits with the STL's on Thursday to Friday. I got to go with Sister Henkel! Oh man she is so cute! She's from Germany and is an amazing missionary! I learned loads from her! It was fun to be with them for the few days. We saw many miracles this past week. Let me fill you in :)

-Tuesday: Sister Martin and I went to contact a referral we received last week during the day. We contacted them. They are the brother and sister of a member here. The two siblings, Chris and Sophie, ended up coming to dinner on Thursday at their brother's house and we were there as well. We taught about General Conference and committed them to watch a session. Sophie seemed more interested than Chris but we are praying real hard that General Conference touched their hearts. Also, that night, we had an hour to spare before it was time to go in for the night and we decided to go walk around the town. Well the first guy we stopped was named Richard. He is Roman Catholic but he said it doesn't mean anything to him. Long story short, we taught him about the BOM on the street and he accepted one and we set up an appointment to meet with him on Saturday.

-Wednesday: we had a dinner appointment with a member and she ended up inviting her friend Kelly and her daughter Morgan to it. I mentioned a couple of weeks ago how they came to church and how we wanted to teach them. Well guess what...we are teaching them this Thursday!!! :) Wahoo!! I'm so excited! She is awesome and loves how the church is so centered on families! We also taught the Brinzas english. It went pretty good. They are really nice!

-Thursday: us and the STL's decided to take this huge Restoration board we have in our flat and put it in the town center and go finding! It was a blast!! We forgot to take a pic so that was a bummer but it was so fun! And we got a couple of potentials out of it so that was great! Sis Henkel and i went to Moira that night to see Christopher. His mom told us to come back at the end of November because that's when his finals will be over with. So that's the update on him.

-Friday and Saturday: We weren't able to see John on Friday because there was an emergency in his family. But on Saturday, we taught Richard with a member! He talks a lot but we squeezed in a few words about our purpose as missionaries. We explained a bit more about the BOM. We had planned to teach the restoration but that wasn't gonna happen because he talks a lot haha but we managed to talk about baptism and we invited him to be baptized. Fam, he said YES!!! and, we invited him to General Conference and he came!!! It was so great! He is so prepared and is all for joining the church. Now, we just need to have him see WHY he's joining so he doesn't join for the wrong reasons haha

-Sunday: Richard and Stuart both came to conference! They went to the priesthood session and Richard stayed for the 1-3 session. He loved it! So I hope and pray things work out! speaking of conference, oh my those men are amazing. I loved loved loved conference! I had prayed for what questions I could ask for General Conference and all of them were answered. My testimony definitely grew yesterday. Some quotes i liked from Conference were...
"Opposition sends seekers of truth to their knees."-Neil L. Andersen
I loved his talk and especially this sentence. There have been so many times when opposition has gotten in the way of our work and prayer comes into play.
"Decisions determine destiny."-President Thomas S. Monson
Enough said.

Two talks that i really loved were Tad. R. Callister's and L. Tom Perry's about parenting and parents. I just have to say that i have the best parents in the whole world. I loved how L. Tom Perry talked about the roles of the mother and father.
Mom, you raised us daughters so well! You always have been interested in what we're up to and have always kept us safe from the dangers of the world. You truly nurtured us. You influenced me to always do good, never leave anyone out and to always be kind to others. You made our house a home!

Dad, I immediately thought of you when he talked about how the father plans trips for the family. That is so you dad! I have loved growing up with family vacations. We have so many traditions because of you. I always loved chatting with you about life and reminiscing on life. You honor your priesthood. You were my example of a great missionary.

I love both of you so much! I'm so grateful to have parents like you! I hope to one day be as good of a mother and parent as you are! Thanks for everything! Thanks for being my prime gospel teachers.
Well family I love you all!! Thanks for all of your support!! Have a great week!! Miss you always! xoxo :)

Love,
Sister Firth :)
us walking along the road, sis henkel and i, and sis m and i going to general conference!

Callie sent us this picture telling us that it might be in the Ensign.  She told us that the missionaries had to sign some papers for its release.  That would be so cool if it actually happened!  This pic is a little blurry but she mentioned that several pics were taken.  Love all these Elders and Sisters!! .....Lisa
