"Funniest Home Video!"

BEST FAM IN THE WORLD!!!!!
Oh hey!!

Well, funny story to start off with....so this morning Sis Rousseau and I went running down to the dock by our house and Sis Rousseau was looking out at the sea and totally ran into a giant light post!  It was the funniest thing I have ever seen!!  I literally was on my hands and knees laughing. She didn't get hurt but she was laughing so hard.  It reminded me of when Whit and I used to watch funniest home videos!  Soo classic!!

So this past week has been pretty good!  We've done loads of walking and finding.  We have our first investigator!!  Her name is Fiona and she is really good friends with our branch prez's wife!  We have loads of potentials to so lets hope everything goes as it should!
We've been teaching loads of less active members. They are all so nice! We are really hoping to get most of the less actives back to church!
Sorry this is so short but nothing big has happened this week!  I've been overly tired this week.  I guess that's what white washing does to you! haha but I love it!  I really love Stornoway!  It is so amazing and I love love love the people!  So grateful to be a missionary!  I read a conference talk this morning about Sidney Going who was a rugby player for New Zealand.  He chose to serve a mission and he was so positive and Christ-like.  I am making it a goal to be more Christ-like so I can improve.  There's always need for improvement right? :)
Well I love you all!!  Thank you for everything!!  I miss you guys!  oh and I think it was Brynlee's birthday this past week!  Happy one year big chunky cheeks!!  I love you!!  Miss you all!!

Love,
Sista Firth :)

Communication to Stornoway---Half Way Across The World

Dear Sister Firth,

I just talked to your daughter, Sister Firth, in Stornoway.  She sounds very happy and energetic.  She and her companion have their first investigator lesson today!  Yeah!  I also gave them a referral, so we will see how that turns out.  Many times the referrals don’t work out because the address is not right, the phone number isn’t right, etc.  And this referral I gave them seems like it might be one of those.  If they can’t contact the person, we drop the referral.

Anyway, Sister Firth’s address:  6 Seaview Terrace, Stornoway, Isle of Lewis SCT, HS1 2RR

You can send letters to either the mission office and I will forward them on to her, or you can send the letters directly to her address.  As far as packages, if you send them to the mission office, they will probably stay in the mission office until someone goes to the Isle of Lewis which may be quite a while.  But she would get her package at least by Christmas if she is still there at that time.    They are always safe here, just may take a while to get to her while in Stornoway.  You can send packages to her on the island if you would like.  However, I would not send them to her flat.  She and her companion may not be at home when a package is delivered and then it would go back to the post office and sit until it could be picked up…which who knows when that could be.  I would suggest that you send the package to the Branch President, President David Jones.  They could hold it until they see her, which will be often…more than once a week for sure.  Also, I wouldn’t send letters or packages at least 2 weeks before transfers. In the case she is transferred and a letter or package arrive at her flat and she is transferred, her mail will take a while to get to her—if at all.  Email letters are best around transfer time.

President David Jones address is:  10 Holm Village, Isle of Lewis HS2 0AZ, Scotland   United Kingdom
The email address of President Jones is davidjones10holm@btinternet.com

If you have to email the branch president, please ONLY do it when sending a package to let them know to watch for it.

As far as Christmas packages, the earlier you start sending them, the better.  Some parents started sending them in October last year.  Like I mentioned, if you send the Christmas packages here for her, they will be safe and we make sure she will get them.  Who knows how long she will in Stornoway.  If you do send them to her there and she is transferred before Christmas, then that is more that she has to pack for a move and it may be more than she can handle.  I would suggest sending Christmas packages to the mission office.

I hope this has helped to answered you questions.  Take care and know that we love Sister Firth and think she is an amazing missionary.

Warm Regards,
Sister Price
Scotland/Ireland Misison

Hi President Brown and mission office ~

I'm sorry to bother you, as I know that you all are very busy, but I am in need of Sister Firth's address in Stornoway, Scotland.  We have received an email from Sister Firth, but still do not know her address in her new area.  Also, with her being on an island, can you please tell me the timing of packages being sent to her once you have received them in the mission office.  We are trying to do planning for sending her birthday package (which is in November) and also, need to know when you need to receive her packages for x-mas in the mission home in order for Callie to receive them by x-mas?

I know this is all sort of trivial, but is therapy for us being able to serve Sister Firth! :)  We just love and miss her like crazy!! :)  BUT, we are go grateful for this incredible opportunity for her to serve the Lord!  She writes home that she "LOVES BEING A MISSIONARY!"

Thanks so much for any help on getting us her address!  May the Lord bless you and all our sweet sons and daughters!

Love,

Lisa Firth

"STORNOWAY.....greatest place on earth!!!!"

Hello fam bam!!
Okay, so I have some bad news......I decided that I'm never coming home.  I'm staying in Stornoway forever! :) haha sorry but I love it up here! Okay so let me start off with my great companion....

Her name is Sister Rousseau. She is from Vernal, Utah and is soo cute! We get along great and are soo much alike! She is going to be in the ARMY (uhh ya cool huh!) and she is such a great missionary.  She is the second oldest of 11 kids and her mom is pregnant....again!! 12 kids in her family!! Wow!! She plays tennis and graduated in 2011.  I love her!  We are soo excited to be up here!

Okay so on Wednesday night, we slept at the mission home.  We thought that we were going to come over here to Stornoway by the ferry on Thursday, but nope...we flew!!  haha  The plane had 26 people on it!  And we could only take 2 suitcases and they could only weigh 33 pounds each!! Crazy huh!  We left like half of our stuff back in the mission home! haha  Elder and Sister Sharp (the senior couple) met us at the airport when we flew in. They are soo nice!  They are from Herriman, Utah! I absolutely love them!  So we got to our house around 8 in the morning. Our house is sooo cute! Its big!  We have a down stairs and an upstairs.  So 2 floors.  We have a kitchen, two bathrooms, living room, guest room, our bedroom, and a study room!  We love it!!  Our branch pres and his wife wanted to take us out that day to show us around.  We drove all the way up to the Port of Ness and all the way down to the Isle of Harris!!  And can I just say that I'm going to live here?  It is BEAUTIFUL!!!!

So here's the info on the area.  We don't just cover Stornoway, we cover the Isle of Lewis, the Isle of Harris, and all the other islands that surround it!  So yes, we have loads of work to do but we are soo pumped!  We aren't allowed to chap (knock doors) on Sundays because it is a BIG offense to the people on the island.  So we go on really long walks to get to know people who are outside and we plan!  Its great!  The people are really nice though!

Our branch has 80 members in it and only 10 are active.  There were only 8 members at church yesterday, so we are going to be doing loads of less active work.

So we are loving it up here! We think we will be here for 6 months, but we hope we are here the rest of our missions!  We are so excited to start seeing loads of miracles!  I love being a missionary!  Its amazing!  Thanks for all of your support!!  I love you and miss you...kinda :) haha! just kidding!  I miss you loads!!!

Love,
Sister Firth :)

"Almost Transfers??!!!"

Hello family!!!

This week has been good! Today might be the last p-day I get to spend with sister covey! :(  I hope she doesn't leave!  I might just die!  haha  I guess I can survive!  Oh and make sure you send all letters and packages to the mission home in case I get transferred next week!

We had Zone Conference and wow, it was the best zone conference I've been to!  It was Elder James, my zone leader's last Zone Conference so we all bore our testimonies.  It was so spiritual!  We are all really sad to see him leave but it has been so fun having him as my zone leader!

Bernadette is doing great!  She still hasn't made it to church but she is reading the BOM and is still praying.  Sis Covey and I love her to death!  We go over to her house twice a week!  We are going over there this Friday for a girls night with her and her friends since Sis Covey might be leaving.

Cheryl got confirmed yesterday!  Satan tried to stop her confirmation, again, but Heavenly Father really answered our prayers.  Cheryl showed up to church all on her own right before sacrament.  We were really stressing but we said loads of prayers and Heavenly Father helped us out!  So thankful for the power of prayer.

So funny story for the week....on Thursday, we were teaching this mom named Natalie.  She is a single mom of 3 kids.  A 10 year old, 3 year old, and a 2 year old.  The 3 and 2 year old kids were going crazy during the lesson but they were soo cute!!  We wanted to say a closing prayer before we left so we had the little girl who is 3 sit on Sis Covey's lap and the 2 year old boy sit on mine so that we could have silence while we prayed. Well we got done praying and I took Reese off of my lap and let him go play again.  Well I looked down and my skirt was soaking....yes, he peed on my lap during the prayer!  haha!!!  Natalie felt so bad but it was so funny and it really wasn't a big deal so i just laughed.  It really was way funny and we are going back to her house this week so that's good! :)

This week has been really good but Sis Covey and I were really struggling on Friday and Saturday with trusting God and having faith in Him.  Then with the experience we had with Cheryl yesterday with her confirmation and God answering our prayers really strengthened my faith.  Faith is so simple.  It seems so easy to just have faith but at times, its not.  There are so many stories of prophets in the Book of Mormon of prophets having so much faith.  Moroni, Enos, Samuel, 2000 stripling warriors, Nephi and so many more.  They have so much faith and it seems so easy to do.  I've learned out here to really rely on the Lord in the hard times.  I have such a strong testimony of the Book of Mormon and the power of prayer.  I have a genuine love for the Book of Mormon.  Its amazing and I have learned so much from it.  I love how I can escape from all of my worries and stresses when I read the Book of Mormon.  I love the Book of Mormon.  I love my Savior.  I love sharing the gospel with others.  I love being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  And I'm so grateful to be a daughter of a King.

Love you all!!! thanks for everything!! :):)

Love,
Sister Firth :)

P.S. This is the Healey's....they are our parents out here!  We LOVE them!! :)  We eat at there house every Friday!  Love Scottish people!!

"It's September!"

Hey family!!! :)

Well it's finally September!!  Okay I can't believe Cole comes home in 2 days!!!!!  Crazy!  I'm soo excited for him!  You totally have to send me pics!!  Tell him hi for me and that I love and miss him!  Tell him to write me if he wants!

Well nothing big has happened since Thursday!  I went on exchanges with Sister Passey (new sister training leader) from Saturday til Sunday.  It was way fun!  I stayed in Pollok which meant that I had to lead.....umm I guess you could say I was stressing a little!  haha  But everything worked out great!  Only got lost once :) haha!  I learned loads from her!  She is such a great missionary and she really knows how to ask effective questions which was good for me to see!  We had loads of fun together!

We also had Stake Conference yesterday and President Brown and Sister Brown were there!  It was a good meeting and it was good to see them! Sundays are always hard days for me because the wards in Scotland are so little and it makes me miss my ward back home!  Sundays are homesick days for me!  haha oh well :)

We have a busy schedule this week with lots of appointments so I'm excited for that!  We are going to invite Michael and Lisa to be baptized this week!  Lisa canceled on us last week but we're going to see her on Wednesday so that'll be great!

Well sorry this is so short!  It'll be longer next week!  The weather has changed a lot!  Its way cold here now...bummer!  Lets hope I don't freeze!! haha well I love you all!!  Feel free to write me whenever you want :) haha  Letters are great!  I love them!  Thanks for all of your support! I love you all lots!!!!! :)  Being a missionary is hard but great!  Wouldn't trade it for anything! :)

Love,
Sister Callie Firth :)
